Can my regular, yearly gynaecological check-up show the presence of fibroids?

Sometimes, fibroids are detected casually during regular gynaecological check-ups or when screening for other health issues. If the GP believes uterine fibroids might be present, they will ask you to undergo further, specific screening procedures to confirm the presence or to identify other possible causes of the reported disorders/symptoms. In this regard, a standard transvaginal ultrasound scan is sufficient to confirm the presence of fibroids.
